Indira Park is having 76 acres of area and it is located in the center of city of Hyderabad. The foundation stone for the Indira Park was laid during September 1975 by Late Faqruddin Ahmed, the then president of India and it was open for the people in the year 1978 with complete landscaping.

Indira Park is good entertainment park for common people, school children, families and foreign visitors as the landscaping of Indira Park was very uniquely designed without disturbing the natural elements existing in Park such as wild date palms, keuvda plantation and Sandal wood trees and fruit plants like mango, kalajamun etc.

The Park is with huge lawn areas, tree and shrubs plantation and with water bodies (pond & channel). Later in 1994 Computerised Musical dancing fountain and water falls were also added as additional attractions. Also Boating pond with jet fountain is existing.The park is also having commercial nursery and rose garden as major features.

	Works taken up during 2000-2001 are:
During 2000-2002, the entire Indira Park is being renovated on large scale with new features to give complete facelift to the park. Now park area is 76 acres with Tennis Court and Scatting ring. Natural living rock sanctuary is one of the Major attractions.After the renovation of the park, additional features were added such as:
	Living rock sanctuary with unique rock sculptures (Natural stones) erected by Sri. Subrato Basu, Commissioner-I, Central Exercise, Hyd.
	Sweal with mounds (along with carpet lawns) constructed.
	Existing water bodies are Inter connected as part of renovation.
	New entrance plaza constructed.
	Children play equipment and mini toy train were established.
	Entire Rose garden with named varieties re-laid.
	Jogging track created all along the periphery of Indira Park.
	New jet fountain (GENEVA JET) established.
	Amenities like Canteen, Drinking water facilities and Toilets provided.
	To maintain the eco-friendly system large-scale openspace plantation & shrubberies taken up.
	Large lawn areas around 30 acres were developed.
	Oasis-effect in wild date palms with sand is created for children
	Areas for small functions like birth day parties, social pathways, provided.
